Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the GetUp: Push Up Alarm Clock mobile application (hereby referred to as the "Application") created by Gautam Singh Rathor (hereby referred to as the "Service Provider").

The Application is provided as a Free service with optional premium features and is intended for use "AS IS."

The short version: GetUp needs no account, and almost everything happens on your phone. Camera frames for exercise counting stay on your device and are never recorded or uploaded. A photo mission's proof photo goes to Google for the AI photo check only after you agree on iOS, or while AI photo check is on in Settings on Android.

Information Collection and Use

The Application may collect certain information to provide and improve its services. This includes:

Device type, operating system version, and app version
App usage statistics such as features used and session counts, collected with Firebase Analytics and PostHog (product analytics)
Crash logs and performance diagnostics
Purchase and subscription status

If you sign in, your usage analytics and purchase status are linked to your account id. If you do not sign in, they are not linked to a name or email. This information is used to improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.

Accounts

GetUp works without an account. Signing in is optional. If you sign in, we receive an account id and the email address from your sign-in provider, and we link your analytics and purchases to that account id so your subscription follows you to a new phone. Your alarms, streaks, and statistics are stored locally on your device.

Camera and Motion Data

Push-up counting uses your device's front camera together with on-device machine-learning pose detection (Google ML Kit running locally on your phone).

Camera frames are analyzed in real time on your device and are immediately discarded.
No video, images, or body-pose data are recorded, stored, or transmitted during counting.
The shake mission reads your device's motion sensors on-device only.

Proof Photos (Photo Mission)

If you choose the photo mission, the photo you take is:

Stored locally on your device only, in the app's private storage
Automatically deleted within approximately 24 hours
Not uploaded, shared, or transmitted anywhere, other than the AI photo check described below

The AI photo check is optional. On iOS it runs only after you agree in the app. On Android it runs while "AI photo check" is on in Settings (on by default). Then one downscaled copy of your proof photo and your chosen prompt are sent securely to Google's Gemini API through Firebase AI Logic to check that the photo matches your chosen prompt. We don't store it, it isn't used for advertising, and under our API configuration it isn't used to train models. If you say no on iOS, or turn the setting off on Android, photo missions stay fully offline.

Bedtime App Lock

If you enable the optional Bedtime App Lock:

Android: the Application uses the Usage Access permission to check — on your device only — whether an app you chose to block is on screen during your bedtime window. This information is used solely for that check and is never collected, stored beyond the check, or transmitted.
iOS: blocking is performed by Apple's Screen Time framework. Your app selections are represented by opaque tokens that neither we nor anyone else can read, stored only in the app's private container on your device.

We have no visibility into which apps you use or block.

Data Storage and Retention

All alarms, schedules, streaks, and statistics are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the Application deletes this local data. Analytics and crash reports are retained by our analytics providers according to their standard retention policies.

Third-Party Services

The Application uses third-party services to operate effectively:

RevenueCat (subscription and purchase management)
Firebase Analytics (usage analytics)
PostHog (product analytics, linked to your account id if you sign in)
Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)
Firebase Remote Config (app configuration)
Google Gemini via Firebase AI Logic (photo mission AI check: one downscaled proof photo and its prompt, only after you agree on iOS or while AI photo check is on in Settings on Android; not stored by us)
Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple (optional sign-in)
Firebase App Check (protects the AI check from abuse)
Google Play Services / Apple services (payment processing; ML Kit on-device pose detection; Screen Time on iOS)

These services may collect and process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. The Service Provider does not sell, rent, or trade user data with any third party.

Payments and Purchases

The Application offers GetUp Pro as auto-renewing subscriptions and as a one-time Lifetime purchase that does not renew. The plans offered can vary and are shown in the app. All payments are processed securely via Google Play Billing (Android), the Apple App Store (iOS), and RevenueCat (purchase and subscription management). The Service Provider does not store your payment details.

The Application does not display advertisements.

Ad measurement (Android)

When we run ads for GetUp, the Android advertising ID and app events such as install, first open and purchase are shared with Google through Firebase so we can see which ads bring people to the app. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings, Privacy, Ads. The Application does not show ads and iOS does not use the advertising identifier.

User Rights

You have the right to:

Access the data stored on your device (it is visible in the app)
Delete your account and the data linked to it at any time in Settings, then Delete account
Delete all app data by uninstalling the Application
Stop all data collection at any time by uninstalling the Application

Children's Privacy

The Application is not intended for children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If such data is identified, it will be deleted promptly. Physical missions are intended for users capable of safely performing light exercise.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data, including encrypted network communication (HTTPS) for the limited data that leaves your device (analytics, purchases, your sign-in identity if you sign in, the proof photo for the AI photo check, and on Android the advertising ID), and private on-device storage for everything else. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Permissions

The Application may request the following permissions:

Camera — to count push-ups on-device and take proof photos (photo mission). Camera frames for exercise missions are processed on your device and never recorded or uploaded. A photo mission's proof photo is sent to Google only for the AI photo check described above.
Notifications — to ring alarms and show backup alerts.
Exact alarms (Android) — to ring at the precise time you set.
Ignore battery optimizations (Android, optional) — so the system does not silence your alarm.
Usage Access (Android, optional) — only if you enable Bedtime App Lock; processed on-device.
Display over other apps (Android, optional) — to show the bedtime lock screen over a blocked app.
Screen Time / Family Controls (iOS 16+, optional) — only if you enable Bedtime App Lock.
Motion sensors — for the shake mission, on-device.

The Application does not access contacts, microphone, or precise location.

Opt-Out

You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the Application using your device's standard uninstall process.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. You are advised to review it periodically. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of any changes.
